  1. Thank you all for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your heartfelt words and demonstration of genuine concern for Shepherd of the Valley and its members. Please know your comments are heard, prayed about, and discussed.

The leadership at SOTV is passionate about continuing a legacy of love and grace for our community. As our community changes, we must make changes as well. Regardless of the circumstances, let me assure you that each decision is fervently prayed about and discussed in detail with many stakeholders from our congregation before a final decision is made.

Your feedback is important and always welcomed. Blog posts, surveys, and dialogue sessions provide opportunities for feedback from many members; however, for those who wish to be more involved in the leadership of the church, there are several opportunities to play a more active role in that process. At the annual meeting, two new members were elected to serve on church council, and we look for new members each year. A new leadership team structure was also introduced which provides members the opportunity to serve in different areas of the life of the church including communication, stewardship, welcome, etc (see blog post above). Each team meets monthly and provides direct guidance and recommendations to the council.

As President-elect, I invite you, and all who are care deeply about our congregation, to prayerfully consider these servant-leader roles. For more information on these opportunities, or to contact me directly with your ideas and feedback, please email me at council@sotv.org

Shepherd of the Valley is a place we all love--if not, we would not be posting on this blog. As a member of the congregation, and the council, I pray our church will continue to be a place where we encounter the love and grace of God on a regular basis.

    Blessings,

    Jenny Buckley
    Church Council President-Elect
